What Macy's Is Hiring For This Holiday Season

Macy's, Inc. laid out its plans in its 2026 holiday hiring announcement. Stores are filling part-time seasonal roles, and select supply chain sites are adding full- and part-time staff. The company scheduled three in-person hiring days this fall: September 24, October 22 and November 19. Macy's says times vary by location.

Portland isn't on the company's list of 10 top hiring markets this year. Seattle is the only Northwest city named. The hiring day still runs at every Macy's store, but no local headcount has been published, so treat October 22 as a real shot at a holiday job rather than a promised offer.

There's no single pay rate. Macy's says every posting lists its own pay range, so read it before you apply. Listed perks include a colleague discount, a 401(k), eligibility-based medical, dental and vision coverage, and early access to earned wages.

🗺️ Which Store Fits Your Commute

Macy's own store directory lists no location inside Portland city limits, so the hiring day happens out in the suburbs.

Washington Square, Tigard. Just off Highway 217. The easy pick for Beaverton, Lake Oswego and Southwest Portland.

Clackamas Town Center. On SE 82nd Avenue off I-205, at the end of the MAX Green Line. It works for Milwaukie, Happy Valley and outer Southeast Portland.

Vancouver Mall. Handy for Clark County residents and North Portland commuters who already cross the river. One thing to know: the store sits in Washington, where the state minimum wage runs higher than Oregon's Portland-metro rate. The address where you work sets your legal floor, not where you live. Our Portland vs. Vancouver minimum wage breakdown explains the gap.

Bring photo ID. If you're hired, you'll complete work-authorization paperwork.
Know your availability. Evenings, weekends and the days around Thanksgiving are what holiday retail runs on.
