What the Beaverton Second Chance Job Fair Is

The fair is run by Goodwill Job Connection, the employment program of Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, the Portland-based nonprofit behind Goodwill stores across the metro. Goodwill's stated mission is to open job opportunities for people with disabilities and others facing barriers to employment, and this fair is built around that idea.

The Beaverton Resource Center hosts it inside its building, where the same staff already help neighbors with food, rent and utility assistance, financial coaching and job support. The center bills it as a multi-employer fair with full-time and part-time positions, held on the third Tuesday of every month.

"Second chance" hiring usually means employers who are willing to look past a criminal record, a long employment gap or a rough patch. Goodwill's listing does not spell out its own definition or any eligibility rule, so nothing on the page says you need to fit a particular profile to walk in.

Who's Hiring, and What We Don't Know Yet

Neither Goodwill nor the Resource Center has published a list of participating employers, and neither has named specific roles, pay or headcount. What is confirmed: multiple employers, both full-time and part-time openings.

Cost and registration are also not listed on either page. Call the Beaverton Resource Center at 503-207-5670 before you head over if you want to know who will be at the tables or whether to sign up first.

📋 How to Show Up Ready

  • Bring printed copies of your resume, at least five. A one-page version is fine.
  • Have a short, honest answer ready about any gap or past conviction. Keep it brief and turn it toward what you're doing now.
  • Know your availability: days, shifts, and whether you want full-time or part-time.
  • Bring a photo ID and a pen, and a list of references with phone numbers.
  • Arrive early, while recruiters are fresh.

The Resource Center sits on Walker Road in north Beaverton, just south of the Sunset Highway, and TriMet's trip planner will map the best bus route from wherever you start.
