PORTLAND, OR — The Rose City's fall hiring calendar is thinner than the aggregator sites want you to believe, but the events that are real are worth the trip. We checked every listing against the organizer's own calendar and threw out everything that didn't survive. What's left is three in-person hiring events between Beaverton and downtown Portland, spread from mid-September through mid-November.

Goodwill Job Connection Multi-Employer Job Fair — Tuesday, September 15

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Beaverton Resource Center, 13565 SW Walker Road, Beaverton

This is the steadiest hiring event in the metro right now, and the one most people miss because it doesn't buy ads. Goodwill Job Connection runs it out of the Beaverton Resource Center on the third Tuesday of every month, with multiple employers in the room and both full-time and part-time openings on the table. The center hasn't published the employer roster in advance, so treat it the way you'd treat any multi-employer fair: bring more resumes than you think you need and be ready to talk to whoever is there. If September doesn't work, the same fair runs Tuesday, October 20 and Tuesday, November 17. The building sits just off Walker Road near Cedar Hills Boulevard, a straightforward run from the Sunset Highway and reachable on TriMet. PSU Fall Career Fair — Monday, October 19

Portland State's biggest recruiting day of the fall lands inside Career Week, October 12 through 19, and it draws private employers, nonprofits and government agencies into the Viking Pavilion on the south end of the Park Blocks. Read the eligibility line carefully before you plan around it: PSU's career center says Career Week events are for PSU students and alumni, and employers register through Handshake. If you're a Viking, past or present, this is the highest-value day on the list. If you're not, it isn't for you, and there's no walk-up door. NDEAM Job Fair at Portland State — Tuesday, October 27

10:00 AM – 12:30 PM | Portland State University campus

Portland nonprofit INCIGHT runs this one through its JobsNow program, timed to National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and it has been a fixture on the PSU campus for years. Employers come specifically to hire, and the framing is inclusive rather than screening. Two honest caveats: INCIGHT's calendar lists the date and the window but has not yet posted the building or the job-seeker registration link, and the site notes that job-seeker registration opens roughly a month before the event. So put it on your calendar now, then check the JobsNow events page in late September for the room and the sign-up. Call 971-244-0305 to confirm the location before you go. We're not printing a street address for this one because the organizer hasn't published one.

⚠️ Read This Before You Drive Anywhere

Two things will save you a wasted morning this fall.

The October 19 PSU fair is closed to the general public. Students and alumni only. It is the single most common mistake people make with campus fairs.
Ignore the national job-fair aggregators advertising Portland events. Several sites run identical "Portland job fair" listings that turn out to be online sessions with no local room attached. If an event isn't on the organizer's own calendar, it isn't an event.

💵 The Wage Line Runs Through Your Commute

Portland is one of the few metros in the country where the legal minimum changes based on which side of an invisible line the job sits on. Oregon sets three rates, and two of them apply inside Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties. Inside the Metro urban growth boundary, the floor is $16.80 an hour as of July 1, 2026. Outside the boundary, in the same three counties, it drops to the standard rate of $15.55. Those figures come from the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries.

What decides which rate you get is the address where the work is performed, not where you live and not where the company is headquartered. Beaverton sits inside the boundary; so does the Beaverton Resource Center where the September fair is held. Push out past the boundary into rural Washington or Clackamas County and the same job title can legally pay a dollar and a quarter less. Worth knowing before you accept something forty minutes out.

One caution: the floor is a floor, not a going rate. In warehousing, logistics and food service, competition around Portland pushes real starting pay above the legal minimum most of the time. Ask what the job actually pays rather than assuming the minimum is the offer.

📋 What to Bring to Any of Them

Ten printed resumes, one page each, with a phone number that works.
Photo ID and, if you have them, your Social Security card and any certifications. Some employers run same-day applications on the spot.
A short, honest answer to "what kind of work are you looking for." Recruiters at multi-employer fairs move fast.
Clothes you'd wear to the interview, not to the errand you're running afterward.
A note on your phone with your last two employers, dates and supervisor names. It kills the application form problem.

Fairs are three days out of a ninety-day season. The rest of it happens online, and Portland's steadiest fall demand is in warehousing along the Columbia corridor, health care across the big systems, and retail and food service ramping toward the holidays.

Can the public attend the Portland State career fairs?

Not the October 19 Fall Career Fair. PSU's career center limits Career Week events to PSU students and alumni. The October 27 NDEAM fair is a separate event run by INCIGHT that happens to be hosted on the PSU campus, and it is not a PSU student fair.
